We trust your holidays were great and your new year is going fabulous! Many changes and strong growth are underway over here, and we look forward to bringing you stronger, better, faster services in the second quarter of this year and beyond.

Services Growth – A Brand New Platform

The strongest growth in our services comes first in the form of an amazing new customized website platform; second is a new array of ongoing services.

The new Drupal platform is upgradeable, future-proof and best of all – editable by you!  This won’t roll out to old websites unless you want it, but we know you will.  More details on Friday!

Ongoing Services in Development

The ongoing services we mentioned include very important forward thinking strategies, search engine optimization, blog articles, email marketing, and social media – we want it to be our job to keep you looking your best on all digital fronts.  Reputation management, web traffic and metrics, rank monitoring, ongoing SEO, pay per click campaigns, branding endeavors, and MORE – these are the things that will make your small business look SO PROFESSIONAL.

The Team has Grown AND We Moved!

We are now a flexible in office force of 5 – 7 at any time, this having grown from 4 in the fourth quarter last year.  Dane has been our primary coder since the beginning, then we added Cristina in April last year for graphics.  Jessica started in November as our resident content writer and Bethany is our new project manager.  Lana, Lily and Matt round out the latest additions as B2B Marketing Manager, Public Relations Director and Technical Lead.  Our new office is located on NE Halsey St. at 111th Square, next to El Indio Mexican Restaurant, which is oh so delicious!

Friday Luncheon

You are invited, along with ALL of our clients and partners, today (January 15th, 2010) to a New Year refresher NW Business Links networking lunch, hosted by our favorite partner I Take the Lead.  The meeting will be at El Indio, with a great opportunity to introduce yourself and your business to other business owners and professionals.  Then we will move to view the art gallery in our office as we partnered with Jodi Tripp Photography to bring some very stellar digital and NW photography to the scene.  It will lastly be followed by a small presentation on the current events at NWeSource and how you can get involved!  Get ready to meet the team if you haven’t already, we should have Bethany, Jessica, Lily, Lana, Dane, Matt, and Cristina present!

This is all a prelude to our Grand Opening to be held at another date later in the month! See you soon!

Portland Web Marketing Success Story

carpet-cleaning-portland-oregonOne of our favorite and best clients, George Grijalva, called and talked to me and asked me, “I registered CarpetCleaningVancouverWashington.com, CarpetCleaningPortlandOregon.com and CarpetCleaningPortlandOR.com – is that good?”  YES!

Internet Marketing Using Keyword Domain Websites

If you have read our article on keyword domain websites you know we have had significant success with this, and I was ecstatic.  I had researched those very domains just 6 months ago and they were not available!

George is one of those guys who is HUNGRY for success, and so he came over to the office several evenings in a row to work with me personally and we have 1165446_blog_1one of the sites 90% done and one 60% and the other about 20% – but all three are showing #7 on Google for the search terms in the domain – and this within three days of editing them with content.

Blog Websites – Syndication Makes All The Difference

Blog websites use an RPC ping list (both of those links go to articles on our other blogs with explanations and information) to syndicate to, basically letting certain blog aggregators know that they have new information.  After the ping, they will come crawl, read and redistribute your articles and information (citation needed).

Conclusion – Achieving Solid Search Engine Presence

To see the success we have had for George, search Google for Carpet Cleaning Portland OR, Carpet Cleaning Portland Oregon, or Carpet Cleaning Vancouver Washington and you should see his new sites just under the halfway mark.  As we optimize these and start building links in, they will move up.  Also Google likes to see people click on them, new content, and also see some domain age develop before ranking them higher.

Our favorite new marketing graphics we are using is a clear demonstration of the Local Search Engine Presence we can create with you for your business – check this out:

networking-is-not-sellingI Take The Lead is an effective networking leads group organization and Networking Is Not Selling is Becky Tengwall’s, one of the founders, latest blog.  After utilizing a Blogspot address for some time (http://networkingisnotselling.blogpspot.com) Becky decided she didn’t want to rely on Google to make sure her business blog website is up to date and safe – as it is free they offer no warranty to its uptime or backup of its content.  And what if they decide to get out of the free blog business?  Becky’s blog would go away.  Needless to say we took care of her, custom header, Google Analytics, Feedburner, CommentLuv, 2 Posts and now we will be training her on the latest WordPress.  I fully anticipate her gratitude and she has scheduled me to speak at the Tigard Business to Business noon group this week so that should be more than exciting and fun.

1191967_money_links_2I received an inquiry online asking me if I had any ‘canned carpet cleaning websites’ …

Yes and No. Templates are a big part of web design, even when you custom create a template for a site, building the framework is great, using an existing framework works well also.

I was requested next to throw some numbers at him for a proposed site, I responded:

It is easier by phone to give an estimate, but if you answer some questions for me we can see where you are at:

Do you have an existing website?

Will you write or outline the content you want on the site?

How many pages do you want on the site?

What is most important to you:

  • Compelling Content
  • Great looking graphics
  • Google Position
  • Low Price

Keep in mind the more you pay, the more you get and also remember this is an investment that will repeatedly pay for itself over time.

A website SHOULD BE your company’s biggest asset (I will be writing an article on this soon), as all marketing avenues lead to your website. When you tell someone your email, they will go to your website. If you run a radio ad you mention your website. Business cards list your website. Etc… so IF YOUR WEBSITE is good, it will generate you business. If it isn’t it won’t generate as much.

The two carpet cleaners I have helped the most dominate Google for their local regions and get MANY jobs from being high in search results – is that what you want?
